PLD Building Services

CHARD

A grade 2 listed building, former railway station of extreme character which ceased to operate all passenger trains in 1964. Not only were PLD tasked with extending and undertaking major refurbishment works of this historic land mark building, they were tasked to do so in a manner which would retain many of its key features including signature archways and frontage facier design.

The re-development included a 35m brick extension with plinth detail and Spanish roof slate to adhere with listed building planning agreement. Works also included demolition of outbuildings, ground works including drainage, new gasline and gas heaters, welfare facilities, plastering and painting all works. Close relationships were developed with the local listed building planning officer and buildings inspectors, ensuring all works adhered too industry specifications and regulations including duties under the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2007.

This was the fourth listed building project that PLD have completed, other projects including the Original Post Office in Newcastle under Lyme and The Original Old Dairy Milking Cottages at Tatton Park Cheshire.

RUDHEATH

A new build site. With 19 houses varying from 2, 3 and 4 bed houses over 2 and 3 floors. PLD completed all the metal stud, boxing, insulation, boarding, dot and dab, skimming and ceiling works. PLD have worked on many projects of this content.

WOLSTANTON

A medium sized family extension, involving the conversation of a small kitchen dinner into a spacious kitchen and family room. The design and build maximised both space and light, ensuring a practical and efficient kitchen and providing an area for the family to spend "fun" time together.

Works included all ground works, brick work, structural steel works, plumbing & heating inc the re-positioning of the existing boiler, roof work with the incorporation of new sky lights to maximise light, plastering and all electrical works.

THE BROOMES

This project was to create a larger working family kitchen/diner area, to also change the garage into a modern gym. We then created a larger parking area off road and formed a large curved stepped entrance with built in lights and wrought iron work.
